Reading for today Monday,April,20th of 2020 [Kawhia Harbour]

Kia orana & Greetings to all!

Today I received my homework from the Ministry of Education and was tempted to check it out, So I found this book called 'Kawhia harbour' by 'Kawhia moana', Of course I haven't heard of this place before so I searched it up on google to look for more information about what the book would be about. Kawhia  Harbour is apparently one of the three large lakes that is natural in the Tasman Sea coast   of the Waikato region of New Zealand.

This location is very historical & admired to most people who are
descended from Tainui Waka.

The waka was tied to a pohutukawa tree
that is now known as  wahi tapu, It is now a sacred place. The waka was then moved to a small
hill at Maketu named Te Ahurei, where it is buried to this very day.

The relationship that combines Maori and their natural environment is shown in multiple ways,
one is through using expression through a traditional pepeha. This pepeha is a sense of showing which particular area they come from.
